Theexpansion of HKIA’s Terminal 2 and its integration with the Third Runway Concoursedemanded a robust and high-speed data communication network. The new baggage handling system, capable of handling 9,600 pieces of baggage per hour, relies on a fiber-optic network infrastructure for real-time data transmission between control systems, CCTV surveillance, passenger intrusion detection, fire systems, and lighting controls.
