The FTD100 series supports optical transmission of 8-bit PCM coded video on one multimode or singlemode optical fiber. Its card module feature enables it to be fitted in the FT-C18 rack-mount chassis.

The FTD100 series are also compatible with transmitters/receivers of the FTD100Micro, FTD100M and FTD100-XXR3 series.
