2009-06-12 OT Systems Introduces Ethernet Media Converter Micro Series

Oswego, IL. (June 12, 2009) – OT Systems introduces its two new ET Micro Series Ethernet media converters designed for security systems that combine the short-range convenience of Ethernet with the long-range power and safety of fiber transmission in a package small enough to fit in most camera housings

“A growing number of companies are utilizing network systems for security surveillance and installers find IP cameras or other Ethernet and network hardware at remote locations too far away from a network connection,” said R. Joseph Frank, OT Systems’ director of sales for the Americas.  ”With the OT Systems’ ET Micro Series installers can utilize the network hardware and extend distances by converting signals to transmit over fiber.”

The ET101 Micro Series and ET111 Micro Series offer network managers an affordable solution that connects 10/100 Fast Ethernet from UTP to fiber optic cabling. The media converter series uses a high performance auto-sensing exchange chip for full functionality of transfer and exchange, guaranteeing safe and stable data transfer.

Both ET Series products are available in single-mode and multimode fiber along with auto-negotiation of MDI/MDI-X for easy installation. The standard media converters offer a distance up to 20km with single-mode fiber and 2km with multimode fiber. OT Systems products can meet additional distances when specified.
